Cookie Policy for the website cmcostruzionisrl.eu

This information about the use of cookies on cmcostruzionisrl.eu forms an integral part of the Privacy Policy, which provides details about the Data Controller and data subject rights.

What are cookies?
Cookies are short text strings that a website can send during browsing to the user’s device, whether a desktop computer, laptop, smartphone or tablet. They are normally stored in the browser used for browsing. The website that sent them can then read and record cookies on that same device to obtain various types of information. (See http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookie.)

Main categories of cookies
The regulation (Article 1 of the decision) identifies two main categories of cookies: technical and profiling cookies.

Technical cookies
Technical cookies are used solely to transmit a communication over an electronic communications network, or where strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service expressly requested by the subscriber or user to provide that service (see Article 122(1) of the Italian Code).

They are not used for additional purposes and are normally installed directly by the website owner or operator. They may be divided into browsing or session cookies, which ensure normal website navigation and use (for example, making a purchase or accessing restricted areas); analytics cookies, treated as technical cookies when used directly by the website operator to collect aggregate information about visitor numbers and use of the website; and functionality cookies, which allow browsing according to selected criteria, such as language or products selected for purchase, to improve the service.

Prior user consent is not required to install these cookies, while the duty to provide information under Article 13 of the Code remains. Where the website operator uses only such cookies, it may provide this information in the manner it considers most appropriate.

Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are intended to create user profiles and send advertising messages in line with preferences expressed during online browsing. Given their potentially intrusive nature, European and Italian legislation requires users to be adequately informed of their use and to give valid consent.

Article 122 of the Code states that storing information on a subscriber’s or user’s terminal equipment, or accessing information already stored there, is permitted only if the subscriber or user has given consent after receiving information through the simplified methods referred to in Article 13(3) (Article 122(1) of the Code).

Within these categories, a distinction should also be made between:

– first-party cookies, generated and managed directly by the operator of the website the user is visiting
– third-party cookies, generated and managed by parties other than the operator of the website being visited, for example third-party services included in the website: AdSense, YouTube, Google+, Maps, social sharing buttons, etc.

and between:
– session cookies, deleted immediately when the browser is closed
– persistent cookies, which remain in the browser for a set period. They may, for example, recognise a device connecting to the website and make user authentication easier.

Managing cookies
You can remove existing cookies and prevent installation of new ones through your browser settings. Users or visitors who wish to decide each time whether to accept cookies can configure their browser to display a warning whenever a cookie is saved. Refusing cookies, particularly technical cookies, may prevent some sections of websites from working correctly or at all.

Users can also manage cookies through free external services such as www.youronlinechoices.com, which offers selective opt-out for major cookies used on the web, or through the Do Not Track option available in major browsers.

Browsers may also block third-party cookies while accepting only the website’s own cookies. Cookie management procedures vary by browser. Instructions for common browsers are provided below.
